When you look at a 1950’s housewife you see a clean and tidy
house and it is thought that the housewife in the 1950’s spent all day cleaning
and tidying the house. This does not
have to be that way. You can clean your
house and have it look like you are cleaning like a 1950’s housewife and spend
hours cleaning leaving you little time for anything else and here is how you
will do this.
These are the items that you are expected to do every day:
·
Make the bed
·
Get dressed to shoes and have your make up on
·
Cook breakfast
·
Clean up the dishes and wipe down the counters
·
Complete a 10 min exercise
·
Do a Pick up and Put away (PUPA) in each room in
the house
·
Lightly dust each room (feather duster) and
straighten the pillows and blankets in living room
·
Review the menu and start getting things ready
by getting any meat out of the refrigerator and looking at any other item that
will take lots of time to prepare that you can get done early to minimize
cooking time later.
·
Take out the trash and wash out the dish rag and
hang to dry
·
Sweep and/or mop
·
Have lunch
·
Set the table
·
Arrange living room (have his mag. Or newspaper
handy
·
Great your husband happily
·
Server dinner
·
Clear table and wash the dishes
·
Enjoy the night
In order to do this like Flylady you will need to do a few
things these things are to implement a Morning Routine, Afternoon Routine, and
a Before Bed Routine. This is the routines
that I will be following to be able to get all these items done and still have
time to do other things that you will need to be doing to be like a 1950’s
housewife.
Morning routine
·
Get up and get dressed to shoes (hair, makeup
and Teeth) Make your bed while you are in the bed room
·
Swish and Swipe. (Wipe down the bathroom sink and
swish the toilet. This is also a good
time to empty the trash.)
·
Have breakfast
·
Clean up the dishes and clean counter
·
Get out your meat for the supper
·
Do a PUPA and run a feather duster over the flat
surface
Afternoon routine
·
PUPA
·
Have Lunch and clean up the dishes
·
Start Supper
·
Sweep the kitchen
·
Stage the living room for a happy husband
·
Set the Table
·
Serve Lunch
Before
bed routine
·
Shine your sink. (Make sure there are no dishes
and wipe out the sink)
·
Lay out your clothes for the next day
·
PUPA anything that has been left out
·
Go to bed at a decent hour
These routines should not take you more than an hour each
and will leave you time for the other things on you’re to do list like:
gardening, canning, knitting, etc.
I hope that this will show you that you can do it you can
have a clean home and look like you spent all day cleaning it when it only took
a few hours and the more that you do this the faster that you will get at it
and you will see that it will not take you as long as you think that it
will. As Flylady says your home did not
get messy in a day and it will not get clean in a day. Have a good day and happy flying!
