Update

I would like to update everyone on how that my progress is going.  I have found that I need to use it more as a state of mind than the way that I dress and outer appearance.  I am still keeping up with the flying and keeping my house clean and always 15 min to company ready.  Although with all the sick kids in the house it seems to be harder but I am finding that I have to work through it and keep up with my routines and my house will be cleaning itself because I will not realize that I am cleaning.  My husband told me that he would not go out with me in the dresses with my hair fixed like the fifties so I am just trying to keep myself looking good for him and making sure that he is taken care of and his every need is meet.  I feel like it is the key to have a clean and happy home for him to come home to and to make sure that the kids are taken care of and allow him to come home and relax in his office. (This is where he likes to spend his nights)  I will always make sure that he has a warm plate in the oven for him.  I have started to bake more but I think that a lot of that has to do with it being the Christmas season because husband does not really like sweets.   I guess this is all I have to update but I will get some more update and more pictures up tomorrow.

Holidays

As you all know this is a blog about being a housewife and how to fly a big part of being a housewife and the flying system is being able to have a nice neat and tidy and well decorated home.  I have been working on this for the last few days and I have taken down all my fall decorations and started to get out my Christmas decorations out.  I know this is a few days early but I want to have everything in order and out so that I can enjoy the holidays with my family.  I love to spend time with family for the holidays and do not want to be stressed about this.  This is one reason that I plan ahead to do m shopping early and getting it done before Thanksgiving and enjoying all of December to make candy with the kids and fixing up gift bags of fudge and candy for friends and family.  A few ways that you can start now to prepare yourself for Christmas and sail through the holidays with a smile on your face.

1.       Make a list of the places that you need to decorate

2.       Get your decoration together in one spot and decided what goes in each room

3.       When you get these things in the room it will take no time to put it out.

4.       Make a list of who you need to buy for and what that you want to buy for each

5.       Take a day to go and pick up these items

6.       Spend 15 a few times a day and wrap the gifts

When all of this is done you will be cruising along and will be able to enjoy the holidays with the kids and family.

Update

In the last few weeks I have been looking at my progress as a fifties housewife.  I have found that the way of life that best fits me for this project is to be in the mindset of a fifties housewife, but to keep the clothing and appearance as a modern day.  My husband was not going to be seen out with me looking like that.  So my plan for the next few weeks is to dress up in clothing that is right for this time frame and to wear make-up and fix my hair every day.  After the hair and make-up is done I will start my daily duties of breakfast and cleaning then on to the lunch and clean- up to start the supper prep early.

These last few weeks have been really tough on me in the flying (keeping the house up) part of this because I have had sick kids.  I am learning that I can confine the kids to their room to rest in bed and check on them often and get the things that I need to get done accomplished.  I am also facing the problems of not being up to full power myself as I was washing dishes last Sunday and broke a glass and cut my hand.  That landed me in the ER with three stiches in my hand and causes me to move a little slower at my normal activities but I am finding that if I just keep up with my routines(morning, afternoon, and Before bed) I can keep up with the house.    The house may not look great but the laundry is done and the dishes are done and there is supper fixed every night.

We have sadly had to put my husband’s grandma in the nursing home in the last month we had a tradition of going to her house every Sunday for Breakfast after church now that we do not have this place to go to we are going to visit her in the nursing home but I think that me and my husband have decided that we are going to start a new tradition of having the family to come here for a Sunday of family.  With my newly cleaned house and my well stocked pantry this is possible as a fifties housewife.

I will be checking back in a few days to let you know how the progress is going and how the kids are feeling.  Thank you for reading and if you like my blog please share it and click follow at the top left.
